then answer the questions about the story that follow. Discuss the
answers to the questions with the students.
Excerpt from passage
Poland is a large country in the
center of Europe. Its capital is Warsaw. The language of Poland is Polish,
although many people in Poland learn to speak English as well. Winters are
cold in Poland, but spring and summer are usually warm. Most of the land in
Poland is flat. There are very few mountains in this country. Over one
quarter of Poland is woods. If you lived near the woods in Poland, you might
be used to seeing wildcats, wolves and bears! The northern part of Poland
borders a sea called the Baltic Sea. Beaches on the Baltic Sea are very
popular in the summer.
