Excerpt from passage
Italy is
a peninsula in southern Europe. Two large islands, Sicily and Sardinia, are
also part of Italy. Inside the borders of Italy, there are two separate
countries! One is Vatican City and the other is San Marino. Both of these
tiny countries have their own governments.
Italians
love to cook and eat! In Italy, the largest meal of the day is eaten at what
we would call lunch time. Almost every meal in Italy includes pasta. The
type of pasta depends on what part of Italy you are in. In the north, flat
pasta with cream sauce is the most popular. In the south, macaroni with
tomato sauce is the favorite. Cheese, pork, and veal are also popular foods
in Italy. The adults usually drink wine with every meal except breakfast.
