Lesson Excerpt:

"Today, we are going to continue to work on solving equations. This time, we are going to be solving equations that have decimals in them. The steps to solving these one step equations will remain the same, but now we have to remember all of the rules involved when we are working with decimals."

"Let's begin by talking a little about what a decimal is. A decimal is a part of something just like a fraction. In everyday life, we work with decimals every day, because we use money every day. So, when we are solving equations with decimals, one of the things that you can think about is money."

"Before we go through all of that, let's take a minute and review how we add, subtract, multiply and divide when we are working with decimals. If any of this seems unfamiliar, please take some notes. You will need them when left on your own to do the worksheet."

"Here is an addition problem."
