Lesson Excerpt:

Introduction

- "Today, we are going to continue our work on Polynomials. In the past few lessons we have been adding and subtracting polynomials, now we are going to move on to some multiplying."
- "One of the things that we are going to need when multiplying polynomials and monomials, is the distributive property. Let's take just a minute and think back to the distributive property. Here is an example to explain/review it."
- On Board: 7(2x - 9)
- "Now, in looking at this problem there are a few things to review. First, there are parentheses and we know that we are going to want to start by getting rid of the parentheses. The second thing that you can see in this problem is that the 7 is next to the parentheses. Whenever a number or a variable is next to a parentheses then that means that we are going to multiply."
