Lesson Excerpt:
Dividing Polynomials
- "The first problems that we are going to work on are binomials that are being divided by monomials. Remember that a binomial is two terms connected with either addition or subtraction, and that a monomial is one term. Here is an example:"
- On Board: (6x2 - 7) / 2x
- "Now when we were working on rational expressions, we had polynomials that were in fraction form where a polynomial was a numerator and denominator. Because of that, we needed to turn the problem into multiplication and multiply by the reciprocal of the second rational expression."
