Lesson Excerpt:
II. Using an Equation to Build a Function Table
- "Now that we know how to look at a table, figure out the rule and write an equation that explains the rule, we are ready to start working the other way around. Today we are going to be using equations to build function tables. Here is an example:"
- On Board: y = x + 4
- "Look at this equation. The first thing we want to look at is, what information does this equation give us? It tells us that the y term is determined by adding 4 to the x term. Now let's build a table to illustrate this function."
