About this worksheet
A list is the first kind of writing that has a shape of its own. It does not need sentences, it puts one thing on each line, and a title at the top tells a reader what it is for. Children make lists long before they write paragraphs, and naming the form gives them something to aim at.
Sections A and B each give a titled set of pictures to write out, so the words are decided and the child can spend their attention on the form. Section C hands the form over: a title is given, three ruled lines follow, and the child fills them from the room around them.
The answer key names the word for every picture and notes that Section C’s answers will vary.
How to Use This Lesson
Print the worksheet. Sections A and B carry the picture lists.
Read each list title aloud so students know what the list is for.
Remind students that a list gets one thing on each line.
Check Sections A and B against page three; read Section C for form.
