About this worksheet
A lab report explains a science experiment so others can understand and repeat it. This cross-curricular worksheet teaches the parts of a lab report – question, hypothesis, materials, procedure, results, and conclusion – and guides students to plan one of their own.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box explains the parts with labeled examples of a hypothesis, procedure, and conclusion. Section A has eight questions about the form. Section B on page 2 has four planning tasks, including a testable question and a hypothesis.
Page 3 is a complete answer key with answers for every question and sample responses. The worksheet pairs well with the How-To Writing and Informational Writing Prompts worksheets.
