About this worksheet

A glossary is a list at the back of a book that gives the meaning of important terms in alphabetical order. This worksheet teaches its parts, including the term, the definition, alphabetical order, and how it differs from a dictionary, and has students plan their own, with an illustration.

The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box teaches the form with examples. Section A has eight recall questions. Section B on page 2 has four planning prompts.

Page 3 is a complete answer key. The worksheet pairs well with the Using a Glossary and Dictionary Skills worksheets.
