About this worksheet
A blog post is a short, friendly online piece about one topic, written in a casual, personal voice and broken into short paragraphs that are easy to read on a screen. Most posts share four parts: a catchy title, an attention-grabbing hook, a body of short explaining paragraphs, and a closing that wraps up and invites comments. This worksheet teaches that structure and voice.
Section A on page 1 gives eight examples and asks students to label each title, hook, body, or closing (for example, ‘Five Easy Snacks You Can Make After School’ is a title, and ‘Tell me your favorite snack in the comments below!’ is a closing). The reference box names the four parts with general descriptions that differ from the eight Section A items.
Section B on page 2 asks students to plan a post about their own hobby – writing a title, hook, body sentence, and closing – and to explain why blog posts use short paragraphs and a friendly voice. Page 3 is a complete answer key. The skill connects to the Writing an Email and Writing a Review worksheets.
How to Use This Lesson
