A real worksheet from this generator. Type your own words and print as many versions as you need.

A generated handwriting worksheet on a dashed three-line guide, with each word to trace and then write independently.

How it works

Three steps from a list of words to a printed handwriting sheet.

1

Enter your words, names, or letters

Start from a ready-made set — the alphabet, numbers, or sight words — or type your own, one per line. Up to 26 items.

2

Choose how to practice

Trace the light-gray models, copy from a model, or do both (trace then write). Set the letter case, the three-line or single-baseline guide, the letter size, and how many lines per item.

3

Generate and print

Print your handwriting sheet, and print as many copies as you need. Press New version to reprint.

Grade level and skills

Built for Kindergarten through Grade 2 — the letter size does the differentiating (Large for K, down to Small for Grade 2). Use it for letter formation, printing, and writing this week’s words, sight words, or each student’s own name.

Classroom ideas

Ways teachers put a handwriting generator to work.

Name practice

Every student’s own name

Type your class list and each child gets a sheet to trace and write their own name.

This week’s words

Handwriting meets spelling

Turn the spelling or word-wall list into printing practice, so letter formation reinforces the words the class is already learning.

Letters and numbers

A to Z, 0 to 10

Start from the ready-made alphabet or number sets for early letter- and numeral-formation practice.

Morning work and centers

Something ready on the shelf

Keep a printed stack for morning work, handwriting centers, sub days, and early finishers.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to type anything?

No. Pick a ready-made set — uppercase A–Z, lowercase a–z, numbers 0–10, sight words, or short words — to fill the box, then edit it however you like.

How do I enter my own words?

One word, name, or letter per line. Up to 26 lines, 24 characters each. Your list stays on the page: it is never stored or tracked.

What is the difference between the styles?

Trace prints light-gray models to trace over. Copy and write prints one model, then a blank line to write it yourself. Trace then write does both — trace first, then write — the usual Kindergarten-to-Grade-2 progression.

Does it include an answer key?

No — handwriting has no answer to check. The model letters are printed right on the sheet for the student to follow, so the worksheet is the whole thing.

What does the writing look like?

A clean primary-print (manuscript) letterform — with the single-story a and g young writers are taught to print — on a three-line guide with a dashed middle line for letter height. You can switch to a single baseline for older students.
