What’s Included

This printable packet contains twenty fill-in-the-blank sets — two for each of our ten SAT lessons — covering all 249 words in the series. Every set gives you a word bank and a list of sentences, each missing one vocabulary word. You choose the right word from the bank to complete each sentence, then check your work against the full answer key at the back.

Why Fill-in-the-Blank Practice Works for the SAT

The SAT rarely asks for a textbook definition. Instead, it tests whether you can tell which word fits a specific sentence — exactly the skill these worksheets build. Reading each word in context teaches the subtle differences between near-synonyms and helps the meanings stick far better than memorizing a list.

  • Learn words in context. Seeing each word in a real sentence shows you how it is actually used, not just what it means.
  • Use the word bank as training wheels. The bank narrows your choices so you can reason from context; cover it for a harder challenge once you are confident.
  • Build sentence-completion instincts. Choosing the single best fit for each blank is the same reasoning the SAT reading section demands.
  • Self-check and review. The answer key lets you grade instantly and turn every miss into a word to study again.
