Substitute Plans
No-prep packets for every grade from 1 to 8. Grades 1–5 are a full day each; grades 6–8 are one class period, written to be run again for every section. Both come with a timed plan and an answer key. Print them once, put them in the folder, and stop writing plans at six in the morning.
What is here
A substitute plan is not a stack of worksheets. It is a plan: a schedule with timings, what to hand out and when, what to collect, what to do with a child who finishes early, and a space to write back to the returning teacher.
Every grades 1–5 packet is 15 pages. Page 1 is the teacher’s. Pages 2 to 13 are the student work — a warm-up, two reading passages with questions, a math review, word problems, a writing prompt, word work, a science or social studies activity, a wrap-up, and an optional page for early finishers. Pages 14 and 15 are the answer key and the marking notes.
Nothing continues a lesson. A guest teacher has no content expertise, no relationship with the class, and no idea what was taught yesterday. Nothing in these packets asks them to have any of it.

Middle school: one period, run again
Grades 6 to 8 work differently, because a middle-school teacher does not have one class — they have five or six sections of the same subject. These packets are one class period of about 50 minutes, written to be run again for every section, with a log for recording how far each one got.
Eighteen packets in all: three days for each grade in math and three in English language arts, so a folder can be left for whichever subject the absent teacher teaches.
