About this worksheet
A community is a small idea made of concrete parts, and the parts are buildings a child has already walked past. This sheet names five of them — school, library, hospital, post office, fire station — from the picture alone, with a word bank on the page.
Section B changes the question rather than repeating it. Each row holds three places and one thing that is not a place, and a child circles the odd one out. Deciding that a cow is not somewhere you can go is a different piece of thinking from naming a building.
The answer key on page three names each building and names the picture that does not belong in every row.
