About this worksheet
The respiratory system brings oxygen into the body and removes carbon dioxide. Air travels from the nose down the trachea, through the bronchi, and into the lungs, where tiny alveoli trade gases with the blood while the diaphragm moves air in and out. This worksheet helps students connect each part to its job.
Section A on page 1 gives eight clues, and students write the respiratory part each one describes. The reference box names the parts along the breathing path and what each does, so students have the information they need to match.
Section B on page 2 asks what two jobs the system does, to trace a breath from nose to alveoli, what happens in the alveoli, and how the diaphragm helps. Page 3 is a complete answer key with sample answers. The skill builds on the human body and body systems.
