About this worksheet
The immune system is the body’s defense against sickness, finding and destroying pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. This worksheet teaches the key terms – pathogen, virus, bacteria, white blood cells, antibody, vaccine, and immunity.
Section A on page 1 gives eight clues, and students write the immune-system term each one describes. The reference box names and defines each term, so students have what they need to match.
Section B on page 2 asks the main job of the immune system, one way the body fights a pathogen, how a vaccine protects the body, and why white blood cells matter. Page 3 is a complete answer key with sample answers. The worksheet pairs well with the Microorganisms and Circulatory System worksheets.
