About this worksheet
This worksheet has a 10 by 10 word search with eight words about the parts of a plant and what it needs to grow. The words run only across and down, and the big letters suit early readers. A word bank under the grid has a box to check off each word as it is found.
Page 2 turns the puzzle into spelling: under a box that lists all the words, each word is printed with one letter missing, so the student fills in the letter and then writes the whole word on a long line. Page 3 is the answer key, with the puzzle solved and every missing letter.
It comes in two editions: a color PDF and a low-ink black-and-white PDF for everyday copying.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the words in the word bank together.
Find and circle each word in the puzzle, then check it off.
On page 2, write the missing letter in each word, then the whole word.
Check the work with the answer key on page 3.
