About this worksheet

This worksheet sorts animals by one clear test: does a person feed it and take care of it, or does it find its own food? That question, rather than how the animal looks, is what separates a farm animal from a wild one.

Section A on page 1 is a cut-and-paste sort with six animal tiles and two boxes. Section B on page 2 asks the same question in writing about six more animals. Page 3 is the answer key.

It comes in two editions: a full-color PDF and a low-ink black-and-white PDF for everyday copying, both with the same answer key.

How to Use This Lesson

Read the reference box and ask who feeds each animal you name together.

Cut out the six tiles along the dashed line.

Paste each animal in the box where it lives.

Write Farm or Wild for each Section B animal, then check page 3.
