About this worksheet
A subplot is a smaller second story line that runs beside the main plot, usually following a minor character. This worksheet teaches how a subplot connects back to the main story and why one that never converges feels like a loose thread.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box defines main plot, subplot, minor character, parallel subplot, contrasting subplot, converge, resolution, and theme. Section A has eight clues to match to the correct term. Section B on page 2 has four short-response questions.
