About this worksheet
Stage directions are the bracketed instructions in a play that tell actors how to move and speak and describe the setting; they are not spoken aloud. This worksheet has students read a real scene and use its stage directions.
The reference box and the scene are on page 1. Section A on page 2 has eight questions about the scene and its stage directions. Section B on page 3 has four short-response questions.
Page 4 is a complete answer key. The worksheet pairs well with the Elements of Drama and Reading a Play worksheets.
