About this worksheet
An email is an online message whose parts – the From line, Subject line, greeting, body, and sign-off – help a reader find information quickly. This worksheet gives students a real email from a coach to a team and has them read it for who sent it, what is happening, when, where, and any deadline.
The reference box and the email are on page 1. Section A on page 2 gives eight questions, and students find the sender, the new practice time and place, what to bring, and why it changed. The reference box teaches the parts of an email, while the answers come from the email itself.
Section B on page 3 asks students to explain what the subject line tells, why to read it first, what to do if they cannot attend, and to write a subject line of their own. Page 4 is a complete answer key with sample answers. The skill builds on reading a menu, schedule, and other everyday texts.
How to Use This Lesson
