Lesson Overview

About this worksheet

A line graph shows how one thing changes over time, using points connected by a line whose slope shows the trend. This worksheet renders a real line graph titled Plant Height Each Week and teaches students to read its title, axis labels, points, and trend.

The reference box on page 1 explains how to read a line graph and shows the Plant Height Each Week graph. Section A on page 2 has six questions read directly off that graph, including a value, the peak and low weeks, an increase, the overall trend, and what the y-axis measures. Section B on page 3 has five short-response questions about how to read any line graph.

Page 4 is a complete answer key with answers for every item. The worksheet pairs well with the Reading a Bar Graph and Reading a Chart worksheets.
