About this worksheet
A job posting has a very fixed shape, and its two most confusable lines are the requirements and the preferences: one you must have to be considered at all, the other the employer can do without. This worksheet teaches students to tell them apart and to find the deadline first.
The reference box, the job posting, and Section A are all on page 1. The reference box explains the shape of a posting and the difference between a requirement and a preference. Section A has eight questions answered directly from the document. Section B on page 2 has four short-response questions.
Page 3 is a complete answer key with answers for every item.

Answer the eight questions in Section A on page 1.
Answer the four short-response questions in Section B on page 2.
