About this worksheet
Flyers pack the essential facts about an event into a small space, which makes them perfect practice for finding the who, what, when, and where. This worksheet gives students a Spring Book Fair flyer and asks them to pull out each key detail, then think about why a flyer needs clear dates, times, and locations.
Section A asks 8 questions answered directly from the flyer – the event, day, place, start and end times, audience, cost, and the flyer’s friendly suggestion. Section B adds three short responses, including listing the who/what/when/where and writing a headline of their own.
The reference box on page 1 explains what a good flyer includes; the flyer passage follows, with Section A on the same page. Section B is on page 2, and page 3 is a complete answer key with answers for Section A and sample responses for Section B.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the reference box and the flyer aloud, naming the who, what, when, and where.
Work Section A independently; have students find the label (WHEN, WHERE) that answers each question.
Move to Section B and let students draft a catchy bake-sale headline.
Use the answer key on page 3 for self-check or aide spot-check.
