About this worksheet
A plot twist is a sudden, surprising turn of events that the reader did not expect, yet still makes sense because the writer planted clues. This worksheet teaches the technique and contrasts a real clue with a red herring.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box defines plot twist, clues, red herring, and reveal. Section A has eight clues to match to the correct term. Section B on page 2 has four short-response questions.
