About This Reading Comprehension Worksheet

This 4-page reading comprehension worksheet is titled “Piles of Popcorn.” Students read a two-page humorous fiction story about brothers Seth and Jack, who are asked to make popcorn for their dad’s football party using a giant machine that used to belong to a circus. Ignoring the one rule — don’t use too much popcorn — they pour in the entire bag, resulting in an unstoppable flood of popcorn that fills every bowl, pot, and pan in the kitchen.

After reading the story, students answer 4 multiple-choice questions and 1 short-answer creative prompt on page 3. An answer key is provided on page 4.
