About this worksheet
This worksheet turns two-digit addition and subtraction practice into a picture. Every square in the grid holds a problem, and the answer decides the color of that square. Some squares add and some subtract, so the grid is not a page of one operation. When all 72 squares are colored, a flower appears, so a student can see for themselves whether the work went right.
Section A is the grid and its color key. Section B sits under the grid on the same page and asks for ten more problems in writing, without the picture, so the skill is tested on its own. Page 2 is the answer key: the finished grid beside the color key, so it can be graded at a glance. Two pages per student, not three.
It comes in two editions: a full-color PDF and a low-ink black-and-white PDF for everyday copying, both with the same answer key.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the reference box and work one square together.
Solve every problem in the grid, one row at a time.
Color each square with the color its answer points to in the key.
Finish Section B under the grid, then check both sections against page 2.
