About this worksheet
Reading an analog clock and drawing analog hands are the same skill in two directions, and students need both. This worksheet covers both – Sections A and B for reading, Section C for drawing – so students cannot rely on just one direction.
The page-1 reference box gives both names (hour hand: short. minute hand: long.) and shows the two key patterns: minute hand on 12 means o’clock, minute hand on 6 means half past. Two worked examples close the box.
Page 1 has students read six clocks and match four more. Page 2 has students draw hands for six times and answer four short story items in everyday language. The page 3 answer key includes a where-to-draw entry for every Section C item so a teacher can grade by glance.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the reference box and draw the two example clocks on the board.
Pause after Section A item 1 to confirm which hand is which.
Use Section B as a pair-share – one student describes the clock, the other states the time.
