About this worksheet
The surface area of a solid is the total area of all its outside faces. This worksheet teaches the formula for a rectangular prism and the cube shortcut, then has students compute surface area for several boxes.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box works a rectangular-box example and a cube example. Section A has six prisms to find the surface area of. Section B on page 2 has four word problems, including wrapping a gift.
Page 3 is a complete answer key with worked answers for every problem. The worksheet pairs well with the Volume of Rectangular Prisms and Area of Rectangles worksheets.
