About this worksheet
This worksheet turns rounding three-digit numbers to the nearest ten into a picture. Every square in the grid holds a problem, and the answer decides the color of that square. The grid mixes 65 different problems, and no problem appears more than twice. Numbers that end in 5 are mixed in, and numbers such as 344 and 345 round to different colors, so a student has to look at the ones digit every time. When all 72 squares are colored, the picture shows an orange fish with a yellow fin, stripe and tail, swimming past green seaweed, so a student can see for themselves whether the work went right.
Page 2 checks the same skill in a different form: Section B has ten problems to finish, and Section C has three questions to solve in a box. Page 3 is the answer key: the finished picture beside the color key, and every answer to Sections B and C.
It comes in two editions: a full-color PDF and a low-ink black-and-white PDF for everyday copying. In the black-and-white key every square also shows the first letter of its color.
