About this worksheet
A rectangle drawn on a coordinate plane carries more information than it looks like: two of its corners always share an x-coordinate and two always share a y-coordinate, which is why three corners are enough to place the fourth.
Page one carries a reference figure and six small grids, three in the first quadrant and three spanning all four, each showing three corners labeled A, B and C. Section B moves off the picture entirely and asks for side lengths, a perimeter and an area from coordinates alone; Section C asks three questions that need a written explanation.
The skill sits directly under coordinate geometry at the middle grades, where students are asked to find distances between points that share a coordinate.
How to Use This Lesson

Work the reference figure together before students start.
Have students complete Section A, then Section B without the grids.
