About this worksheet
Students don’t really get place value until they can move between four representations: base-ten blocks, digit-place language, standard form, and expanded form. This worksheet practices all four with 32 mixed items so the concept stays connected, not memorized in one direction only.
A small place-value chart at the top of page 1 shows the example number 247 broken into hundreds (200), tens (40), and ones (7). Teachers can point students back to it during independent practice.
Page 1 covers base-ten blocks and digit-place questions. Page 2 covers expanded form (both directions) and a final digit-value check. The page 3 answer key shows both the place name and the digit value for every applicable item.
How to Use This Lesson
Use the reference chart on page 1 as a class warm-up.
