About this worksheet
Ordering fractions means listing them from least to greatest, and the surest way is to give them a common denominator and compare the numerators. This worksheet teaches the common-denominator method and has students order sets of three fractions.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box works an example using the least common denominator and then writes the fractions in order. Section A has six sets of fractions to order. Section B on page 2 has four word problems.
Page 3 is a complete answer key that shows the common-denominator form for every problem. The worksheet pairs well with the Equivalent Fractions and Comparing Fractions worksheets.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the reference box and review the common-denominator method.
Order the six sets of fractions in Section A on page 1.
Solve the four word problems in Section B on page 2.
Use the answer key on page 3 for self-check.
