About this worksheet
This worksheet has 18 multiplication problems written in columns, the way they are solved by hand. A dashed box above each digit of the top number that can take a carry holds the carried digit. A light grid under each problem keeps every digit in its place-value column, and a worked example (47 × 6) shows the boxes in use.
Page 2 ends with two word problems. Page 3 is the answer key. It shows every carried digit above its column as well as each answer, and each word problem worked in columns, so a teacher can see whether a wrong answer came from a fact, a carry or the place value.
It comes in two editions: a full-color PDF and a low-ink black-and-white PDF for everyday copying.
