About this worksheet
Factoring an expression means finding the greatest common factor of its terms and writing it outside parentheses, the distributive property in reverse. This worksheet teaches how to factor out the GCF from two-term expressions and check the work by multiplying back.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box works two factoring examples. Section A has six expressions to factor. Section B on page 2 has four word problems.
Page 3 is a complete answer key showing the factored form of every expression. The worksheet pairs well with the Writing Algebraic Expressions and The Distributive Property worksheets.
