About this worksheet
To estimate a product, you round each factor to its greatest place value and then multiply the rounded numbers. This worksheet teaches the method with worked examples and has students estimate products and check whether answers are reasonable.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box explains rounding and shows two examples. Section A has six products to estimate. Section B on page 2 has four word problems.
Page 3 is a complete answer key. The worksheet pairs well with the Estimating Sums and Differences and Multi-Digit Multiplication worksheets.
