What one question looks like
Part of a sentence is underlined. Choice A is always NO CHANGE, so the first decision is whether anything is wrong at all. This is question 9 of the Commas worksheet, which is free to members.

Every answer on every key is written this way: the letter, then the one-line reason. A student working alone can see why, not only what.
Standard English Conventions
Punctuation, apostrophes, sentence boundaries, agreement, and the other rules the test checks directly. Each sheet teaches the rule, then drills it as four-choice questions.
Expression of Ideas
The other half of the section: not whether a sentence is correct, but whether it is the right sentence in this place. Rhetorical Synthesis is written in the digital SAT's own shape, because that question type picks a sentence rather than editing one.
How every sheet is built
Four pages, the same three moves, whichever rule you pick.
Teach the rule first
Page 1 is a reference box that states the rule and shows it working, plus eight short recall items. A student who cannot name a comma splice cannot spot one under time pressure.
Drill it in test format
Parts B and C are four-choice items. On eleven of the twelve sheets that means the SAT’s classic shape: one underlined portion, NO CHANGE at A, and three alternatives that each fail for a different reason. Rhetorical Synthesis instead gives you notes and a goal, and asks which sentence meets it.
Check the reasoning, not the letter
The key gives the correct choice and the one-line reason it is correct, so a wrong answer turns into a rule the student can carry to the next question.

Do these work for the digital SAT?
Yes, for the rules. The digital SAT asks the same conventions with a blank inside a short passage instead of an underlined portion, so the grammar transfers directly even though the wrapper differs. Rhetorical Synthesis is written in the digital format, because that question type picks a sentence rather than editing one. Each sheet says which shape it uses.
Are they useful for the ACT too?
The underlined-portion format with NO CHANGE at A is still exactly how the ACT English test asks its questions, so eleven of these twelve sheets are usable for ACT practice without any adjustment.
Is NO CHANGE ever the right answer?
Yes, and that is deliberate. Across the twelve sheets about one item in five is already correct as written, because a student who has learned that the underlined text is always wrong has learned the wrong lesson.
Does every worksheet include an answer key?
Yes. Page 4 of every sheet is a complete key that gives the correct letter and the one-line reason for it, for every question.
What grade levels are these for?
Grades 9 to 12. The rules themselves are taught earlier, so a strong middle-school student can use them, but the sentences and the question format are written for high school test preparation.
