About this worksheet
Pronouns make sentences flow without repeating the same noun. Once students can replace a noun with the right pronoun, their writing sounds less choppy and they have the foundation they need for later work on agreement, antecedents, and possessives.
Section A is a quick 12-item drill. Students replace the bold noun phrase with the matching subject pronoun and write the pronoun on the line. Section B raises the difficulty: each sentence has a noun in brackets, and students must choose the subject or object pronoun that fits the sentence’s structure.
The reference box at the top of page 1 lists the seven subject pronouns and the seven object pronouns with two model sentences. Page 2 is a complete answer key in a compact two-column grid for fast spot-checking.
How to Use This Lesson
Read the reference box aloud and have students point to where the noun and pronoun line up in each model sentence.
Work Section A independently as a 4-5 minute warm-up.
Move to Section B and model item 13 together so students hear when to use a subject pronoun vs. an object pronoun.
Use the answer key on page 2 for self-check or aide spot-check.
Pair with the Prepositions Worksheet or the Verb Tenses Worksheet for additional parts-of-speech practice.
