Passed and past sound alike but do different jobs. This worksheet teaches that passed is the past tense of the verb ‘pass’ (moved by, handed over, succeeded), while past is a noun, adjective, or preposition about time gone by or a position beyond.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box explains the rule with examples. Section A has eight fill-in-the-blank items. Section B on page 2 has four short-response questions.
Page 3 is a complete answer key with answers for every item. The worksheet pairs well with other commonly confused words worksheets.
