About this worksheet

A negative contraction joins a verb with the word not, and the apostrophe takes the place of the o in not. This worksheet teaches how to form negative contractions, including the tricky won’t.

The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box explains the rule with examples. Section A has eight word pairs to contract. Section B on page 2 has four short questions.
