About this worksheet
An indefinite pronoun takes the place of a noun but does not name a specific person or thing – everyone, someone, anyone, nobody, all, some, few, and many are common examples. They are useful when a writer means a group or an unknown person or thing. This worksheet teaches students to recognize indefinite pronouns and tell them apart from pronouns that name someone exactly.
Section A gives eight sentences (someone left a backpack; nobody knew the answer) and asks students to write the indefinite pronoun in each. The reference box teaches the skill with ‘Everybody laughed’ and ‘I need something’ examples not reused in the items.
Section B asks students to write a sentence using ‘everybody’, explain whether an indefinite pronoun names an exact person, supply a pronoun meaning ‘not one person’, and use ‘something’ in a sentence. Page 3 is a complete answer key. The skill builds toward subject-verb agreement, since many indefinite pronouns are singular.
How to Use This Lesson
