About this worksheet
English has two main ways to talk about the future: ‘will’ plus a verb and ‘be going to’ plus a verb. This worksheet teaches students to choose ‘will’ for quick decisions, promises, and predictions and ‘be going to’ for plans made in advance.
The reference box and Section A are on page 1. The reference box explains both forms with examples. Section A has eight sentences with a cue telling which form to use. Section B on page 2 has four short-response questions, including writing a plan and a promise.
Page 3 is a complete answer key with the future form for every sentence and sample responses. The worksheet pairs well with the Verb Tenses and Modal Verbs worksheets.
