Five short warm-ups for 5th grade ELA: naming a book, a song or a poem. 20 items with a full answer key — one focused task a day, five to ten minutes at the start of the lesson.
What is in this week
Titles and Capitalization — naming a book, a song or a poem. Every day is one focused task, four items, with the rule printed at the top of the page.
- Monday — Rewrite each title with the correct capital letters.
- Tuesday — Write C if the title is capitalized correctly or X if it is not.
- Wednesday — Rewrite each title with the correct capital letters.
- Thursday — Write the words in each title that need a capital letter.
- Friday — Write the joining word that finishes each sentence.
How to use it
Print the packet once and hand out one page a day, or project it. Students can start before the lesson begins because the rule they need is on the page. Friday returns to week 3, so a Friday dip points at the earlier skill rather than this week’s. Mark them together on the board; these are a warm-up, not something to collect.
