Twelve weeks of math warm-ups, in order. Each week takes one strand across five days; Friday returns to the week before.

Twelve weeks of grammar, usage, mechanics and vocabulary. Each day is four items on one skill, with the rule printed above them.

• Week 1: Prepositional Phrases — the little words that place things. Free
• Week 2: Commas That Change Meaning — where the pause goes, and what it does.
• Week 3: Conjunctions and Complex Sentences — joining two ideas so one depends on the other.
• Week 4: Titles and Capitalization — naming a book, a song or a poem.
• Week 5: Shades of Meaning — two words that are close, but not the same.
• Week 6: Joining Short Sentences — two short sentences into one better one.
• Week 7: Pronoun Case: I or Me — the pronoun that fits its job.
• Week 8: Perfect Tenses — an action finished before another time.
• Week 9: Interjections and Direct Address — speaking to someone, and speaking out.
• Week 10: Multiple-Meaning Words — the same word doing a different job.
• Week 11: Formal and Informal Language — who the writing is for.
• Week 12: Editing for Mistakes — reading your own work as a stranger would.

What a bell ringer is

One focused task at the start of a class period, done before the lesson begins. It is not a worksheet with three sections and it is not a test — it is four questions on a single skill, with the rule printed above them so students can start while you take attendance.

Every packet here is five days. Monday to Thursday sit on that week’s focus; Friday returns to the previous week, so a Friday dip tells you which skill has faded rather than which one is new.
