Bell Ringers · Grade 3 · Week 1 of 12
3rd Grade ELA Bell Ringers — Week 1
Five short warm-ups for 3rd grade ELA: a sentence needs a who and a what-happens. 20 items with a full answer key — one focused task a day, five to ten minutes at the start of the lesson.

What is in this week
Complete Sentences — a sentence needs a who and a what-happens. Every day is one focused task, four items, with the rule printed at the top of the page.
- Monday — Write S for a complete sentence or F for a fragment.
- Tuesday — Write S for a complete sentence or F for a fragment.
- Wednesday — Complete each fragment to make a sentence.
- Thursday — Write A or B for the complete sentence.
- Friday — Write S for a complete sentence or F for a fragment.
How to use it
Print the packet once and hand out one page a day, or project it. Students can start before the lesson begins because the rule they need is on the page. Friday is a cumulative check on the same focus. Mark them together on the board; these are a warm-up, not something to collect.
