Do you know what a rain forest is? If you guessed it is a forest that gets lots of rain you are right! There are not very many rain forests in the world. In fact, only 6% of the world is rain forest land.
A rain forest can be compared to a tall jungle! The weather is hot, humid, and rainy. Many animals and plants call the rainforest home. They are used to living in a hot, rainy place.
30 million different types of plants and animals live in the rain forest. This includes some of the prettiest plants and flowers in the world. Rainforests are home to more than half of the world's plants and animals.
Rainforests make many things we have in our homes. You eat foods that come from rainforests. You also take medicine that is made with ingredients from plants. These plants are often found in the rainforests.
